AMINET SELECT - DeCruncherFace

A great many people are uncomfortable using the Amiga "Shell" or "CLI", In particular when it comes to "Unarchiving" or "Archiving" the various File formats. Never fear help is at hand, DeCruncherFace from Andreas Wenk is a GUI Interface supporting many different Compressed file formats. No more complicated "Commands" a simple "Click" or Two and your files are archived or unarchived, as you wish.

DeCruncherFace (DFace) is not a decruncher, but a GUI for Depackers.

DFace supports:
LHA, LZH, LZX, ZIP, DMS, ARJ, Powerpacker, RAR and self-extracting RUN-archieves (e.g. The german AMIGA-PLUS-Magazine)
A special feature is the cooperation with the Virus-Killer "VirusZ II V1.30" (with AREXX)
With Tooltypes you can change the GUI-language complete in english or german

"Installation"
Just copy the DFace-drawer complete into your HD

But following files MUST be in the DFace-drawer:
DFace (of course) Deutsch English (the two language-files) DF-TEMP (for temporary files)

If you have not save the pathes for the depackers, then the depackers must be in the system-path, (e.g. SYS:C) and MUST have following names:

LHA, LZX, UNZIP, DMS, UNARJ, PPACK, UNRAR (not DMS111 or LZX120 or....)

The DOS-Commands Execute, Wait, Newshell and Endshell must be in your system (it's a matter of course)
For decrunching Powerpacker-Files the powerpacker.library should be in the SYS:LIBS drawer...
For using VirusZ, the VirusZ-program and Arexx must be running.
DFace needs at least OS2.04 !

"Using"

After 'double-clicking' the DFace-Icon you have six Gadgets:
Packer (choosing the depacker) Prefs (pathes and start-options) Depack (Action) Test (shows contents of an archieve) About (Info about DFace) Quit (say goodbye)

Please select your packerformat and click Depack or Test.
A Filerequester appears. Select the archive. If you have select the Prefs/Output-Request, a path-requester ask your for the destination-path.

When DFace is in action, a Shell-Window show the events... After this, the Shell-Window close automatically after 4 seconds...

If an error appears, you must close the Shell-Window by mouse...

The Auto-Depacker read the suffix, and choose automatically the right Depacker...
If you want to quit DFace, please use the Quit-Gadget, and not the Close- symbol ! The Close-symbol iconify DFace !
(Iconify means: the main-window is a window-ledge)
