We're pigged off with furniture that comes flat-packed,
From all sorts of stores, that is a plain fact,
Instructions in languages, not of our own,
In a useful small booklet; my, what a tome!
All made very simple, pictures to explain,
Except that each part looks darned near the same,
Made entirely of chipboard, no wood is in sight,
Will it last the week? Well, maybe it might!
All covered with plastic, just to look right,
The pack says "Assembly will take just one night",
Find pieces too long, and others far too short,
It takes you that long, for these parts to sort!
The days turn to weeks with parts scattered about,
It'll turn you insane, about that there's no doubt,
To assemble this stuff needs a master's degree,
So buy it assembled, and be happy like me!
No handfulls of screws and nails over the floor,
Or complex instructions to heed any more,
Just a second hand shop at the end of the street,
Full of pre-assembled, and that's hard to beat!
