Resize Image files with a right click menu

Almost everyone now uses a Digital Camera either for posting Photos to friends or uploading them to a Website.  One problem is that the size of the Photo`s can be very large and you need to reduce the size for email or webpages.

Of course you can load each photo into a Image editor of your choice and reduce the size ... takes a bit of time though!   Not anymore, MS Powertoys comes to the rescue.

The Image Resizer Powertoy from Microsoft allows you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.  You can download this Powertoy from Microsoft site.  After installing, you'll see a Resize Pictures context-menu when you right-click an Image file.  To select multiple image files, press CTRL key and select the next file(s)

Choose the appropriate dimension you want and click OK.  The output file will be created in the same folder.  If the original filename is Doggy.jpg, the output file name would be Doggy (Small).jpg

If you've already installed the Power Toy and the Resize Pictures option does not appear, run these commands from Start, Run dialog:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

regsvr32 phototoys.dll

Enjoy!
