14th February 2003

Unfortunately, the February meeting was on St. Valentines Day and so only the webmaster
(who hasn't got a girlfriend), turned up. An unusual evening of silence resulted in him
going home early.

We'll try and make sure that future meetings don't clash with special days...

20th December 2002

The GAUG Christmas party was better attended than previous meetings this year.
In all, seven people turned up and after pleas from the webmaster, Beakster appeared with
an Amiga 2000 with a hard drive which sounded like a Harrier Jump Jet in take off mode
when it spun up. When it spun down it was like a Harrier landing! We also had a special
visitor from down south as Flavvy visited us for the first time since he moved to foreign parts :)

Discussion was had on when we could have an AmigaOne or even a Pegasos at the meeting
but nobody was very sure when that would be.

With plenty of food to go around, Flavvy and Beakster moved all manner of jumpers
around to try and get the A2000 to recognise its two hard drives but without a great
deal of success. We played several multi-player games on the Amiga before eventually
departing after an enjoyable evening.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone - see you in February.

8th November 2002

This month's meeting began with two people and on time!
A third turned up later which if nothing else means
that with an increase of one member per meeting we'll
have four people for our Christmas party next month :)

We now have, or rather almost have, two keyholders
rather than one, which means that meetings might begin
earlier and the webmaster might be able to bring his
Amiga again. Don't forget that next month's meeting is
the third week of the month rather than the second.
Bye for now :)

11th October 2002

Due to a rather unfortunate set of circumstances,
the meeting didn't start exactly on time. Two people
who had turned up on time left literally seconds
before the webmaster arrived with the keys.

As a result, the meeting consisted initially of only
one person rather than three, although this grew to two
people later. Subjects discussed included the Amiga
situation generally plus possible future plans for the club.

Hopefully in November, the meeting might begin on time ...

13th September 2002

In what was the smallest meeting on record, the webmaster was the only one to turn up.
Obviously, summer breaks are very bad for people's memories - must avoid them in future :)
Unfotunately, the Linux box where we meet wasn't working so a meeting on IRC was impossible.
Better luck next time ...

3rd May 2002

We had an interesting night on Friday. Donald brought along his
Commodore 64 and ZX81 computers but unfortunately as Martin couldn't
get to the meeting with his TV we just had to look at the computers
rather than use them. All was not lost as Beakster brought along his
A2000 and A1200 and got them going. We had some fun playing a game or
two on them and being deafened by the A2000 which had the loudest hard
drive known to man!

Donald also brought along a CD-Rom with a large Mpeg movie on it and
Flavvy spent ages trying to find a Linux program which could play it
without us having to compile the program first!

Several subscriptions were received and Flavvy announced that we
almost have enough money to pay for the use of the chaplaincy for
another year. See you all at the next meeting in September!

5th April 2002

Two years in existence!

Welcome

Annual General Meeting held in the Chaplaincy Centre of Strathclyde University at 7:35pm
chaired by Duncan Gow with 5 members present

1. Financial Statement

Balance in bank £291
To pay out £240
To pay in £38

Balance £89

2. Meetings for Year April 2002 - April 2003

As discussed on the mailing list and by poll it has been decided
not to hold a meeting every month as some months attendance will be
very low, i.e. during the holiday season. Therefore it was decided that
meetings will be held during the following months:-

It was suggested the meeting be changed after the summer to the 2nd
Friday of each month. This will be decided upon by a poll.

3. Subscription Fees

With there being eight meetings a year the cost for the use of the
chaplaincy would be £160 of which we all ready have £89. Therefore
taking into account the number of members, it was decided the fees for
this year would be £10, or £2 per meeting attended. Monies to Flavvy
next meeting please.

4. Scottish Amiga Show

This was discussed and it was decided the first hurdle would be which
exhibitors would be likely to attend. It is intended to ask the
main exhibitors by email whether they would consider attending a show
in Glasgow in the later part of the year. The months suggested are either
September or November depending on the response. This will determine
whether the show is a starter or not. Duncan Gow to action this.

5. Meeting Themes

It was decided that the meetings should remain informal
but where possible have a theme, i.e.
Bring & buy
DOpus Tutorial (Flavvy volunteered for this)
Any members with suggestions please make them known on the mailing list.

6. Committee

Due to the reduced numbers in the club the following
members will hold the positions below :
