Stereogram Viewer is a program to view the hidden images in stereograms. This program was created purely as an experiment just to see if I could process the stereograms to reveal the hidden images. The following is an example of the results obtained:

Hi Francis,
Just when I thought I was alone on this type of project I found your site!!
I have also managed to formulate a similar technique to your version above but ‘have’ managed to get the 3D type effect!
I’m in the process of completing the test software and a ‘how i did it guide’ and will make it available on my website soon.
Regards,
Colin
Hi Colin,
I am very interested to see the results of your software.
I had started looking into ways of trying to reconstruct the 3D image, but I don’t really have the time to look into it properly. I would be very interested to learn how you achieved it.
Kind regards,
Francis
Hi again Francis,
My technique is quite interesting and doesn’t really use complicated image processing algorithms as such. In the first stages I managed to get similar results to your efforts (2D silhouettes) but getting (seeing) the 3D object was my ultimate goal! I’ll have to keep you in suspense though until I get time to place info and animations on my project website:

Hi Colin,
Interesting approach, and different from the way that I had envisaged doing it. I like the fact that the original pattern is retained.
Nice work! 🙂
Kind regards,
Francis
Hi Francis,
Thanks for the feedback.
I have placed another page on the site with a youtube video tutorial of the process. You’ll see all the steps required in Photoshop to achieve the result.
The downloadable application works in a slighty different way from this process but the results are similar.
