Bricolage : VA Volume 3 (bc011)

a0245713876_10Bricolage Collective has released a new compilation album featuring one of my music tracks. Please show your support by checking out the album which is available via BandCamp.

From Bricolage’s BandCamp page:

Volumes 1 and 2 of our various artists compilations spanned all corners of the globe and provided some fantastic sounds. For Volume 3 we’ve stayed closer to home and delivered a substantial range of tracks that are all products of Scotland. In sticking with the theme of the previous compilations, the sounds are as eclectic as ever. Music from Alpha Skies, Dreamland Fantasy, Nova Noma, Gregor Garnutsi and many more.

New Track Added: A Train Goes By

This is my submission for The Piano Cloud’s Haiku Challenge.

A haiku is a very short form of Japanese poetry. The haiku that inspired this track is:

A train goes by,
its smoke curling
around the new tree leaves
– Masaoka Shiki

Merry Christmas!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2016! (^_^)

New Track Added: The Mermaid’s Reverie

It’s been a long while since I’ve written any new music. This track was written mainly just to get me back into the swing of things and to try out some new mixing and effects techniques. Enjoy! (^_^)

New Track Added: Tale of the Exotic

This is my contribution for the second stage of the Piano Cloud‘s Wedding Challenge part 3 (Something Borrowed). This part of the challenge involved “borrowing” someone else’s piece of music (submitted during the previous stage) and doing our own interpretation of it.

The original piano music is by Brad Stark and is available here:

Spectrogram Scroll-text Demo

This was an experiment to see if I could display text within a spectrogram. I used Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere synth to generate sine waves at various frequencies to construct the characters. I used Renoise to program the letters, numbers, etc. as individual patterns and then sequenced these patterns to form words. iZotope’s Insight was used as the spectrogram.
